PML-N MPA disqualified for fake diploma named political secretary to PM – Latest News – The Nation

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has appointed former PML-N MPA Kashif Mehmood – who was disqualified from his provincial assembly seat for submitting a fake diploma – as his political secretary.

The prime minister made Kashif Mehmood his political secretary ahead of a by-election in Chishtian, after the seat fell vacant following his disqualification.

Prior to the enthronement of PML-N MPA Kashif Mehmood, the federal cabinet headed by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif already comprised 61 members according to the official Cabinet Division portal, including 33 federal ministers, seven ministers of state, four advisers, 17 Special Assistants to the Prime Minister (SAPM) while 29 Parliamentary Secretaries are also notified.

On July 26, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) denoted AMP Kashif Mehmood of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

ECP denotified Bahawalnagar MPA PML-N – Kashif Mehmood – after the Supreme Court denied his petition for review in a fake diploma case.

It should be recalled that in the 2018 general election, Kashif Mehmood won PP-241 Bahawalnagar, he received 48,543 votes while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Muhammad Muzaffar Khan received 44,184 votes .
