Johnny Montoya named vice president of state government affairs in New Mexico and Oklahoma for Kinetic

LITTLE ROCK, Ark .– (BUSINESS WIRE) – Kinetic has appointed Johnny Montoya as vice president of government affairs for the states of New Mexico and Oklahoma. Montoya most recently served as the Director of State Government Relations for New Mexico State University (NMSU). In this role, he worked with local, state and federal officials as well as with private entities to advance the NMSU.

“Montoya has over 15 years of experience in public policy, government affairs and regulation in the public and private sectors. His work in the telecommunications industry has focused on technology-related issues with an emphasis on broadband deployment and the telecommunications regulatory environment, ”said Danny Ferguson, president of operations at State in New Mexico and Oklahoma. “His experience in the telecommunications industry is invaluable to Kinetic as we continue our multi-year, $ 2 billion investment and development in fiber in our 18 states.

In addition to working in government relations for the State of New Mexico, Montoya has experience in government relations in the telecommunications industry. Montoya also worked as a chief of staff for the New Mexico State Public Regulatory Commission (PRC).

Montoya holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
