		<description>1) I believe the county parks MUST remain under direct governance and management by the elected members of the County Board and the County-run Milwauke County Parks Department. While the support of private funding sources and &quot;friends-of&quot; groups may be helpful, there is no external substitute for direct governance of the Milwaukee County Park system by the elected officials of the Milwaukee County Board and, as they direct, the Director of the Parks Department.

2) The time for delaying levy of the sales tax approved by referendum in Milwaukee County voters is past. The State Legislature should approve the tax as submitted by the voters for the purposes as defined in the referendum, property tax reduction and Parks funding. Governor Doyle wisely removed the tax levy for the current budget cycle, but now that the economy is recovering, the sales tax should go into effect.</description>
